New Delhi, Oct. 5 -- The Railway Board has directed all Zonal Railways and Production Units to immediately strengthen implementation of the Labour Codes, particularly in respect of contract labour engaged through contractors and outsourcing agencies, with a focus on timely wages, appointment letters, wage slips, workplace welfare and grievance redressal.
The directions cover service and works contracts under the jurisdiction of railway units and require existing compliance mechanisms to be reviewed and necessary action taken to ensure implementation of a series of statutory requirements.
