Panchkula, Aug. 9 -- The Railway Board has increased its efforts to meet reservation targets across Railway public sector companies and autonomous bodies, asking for special hiring drives, filling delayed and missing vacancies, and closer monitoring after a review showed that required recruitment percentages for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Other Backward Classes were not being met in most organisations.

This action comes as overall workforce numbers show yearly improvement in representation of all three groups, showing progress but still gaps in hiring and in some organisations.
