New Delhi, Sept. 15 -- Railway beneficiaries will now have easier access to information about hospitals available for referral treatment, with the Railway Board directing all zonal railways and production units to prominently display updated lists of empanelled healthcare organisations at railway hospitals and health units.
The directive follows representations received by the Railway Board that beneficiaries visiting railway hospitals and health units were often unaware of the Health Care Organisations (HCOs) empanelled with the railway concerned for referral treatment.
The Board said this lack of information could cause inconvenience to patients or their attendants while availing referral services.
