Kolkata, June 4 -- : union Railways and Information Technology Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw is scheduled to visit Kolkata on June 6 for a high-level meeting with West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari, amid expectations of a major breakthrough in several long-pending railway and metro rail projects across the state.
According to sources at Nabanna, the meeting will be held at 11 a.m. and will focus on resolving issues that have delayed key infrastructure projects for more than a decade.
It should be mentioned that during the tenure of Mamata Banerjee, land acquisition disputes and prolonged Centre-State disagreements had been one of the major issues resulting in slow progress of several rail initiatives in West Bengal.
