Patna, June 19 -- Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Friday said rail connectivity in Bihar is set for a major expansion, with plans to introduce 200 new trains in the state over the next five to eight years. The move is expected to ease travel-related difficulties faced by railway passengers and strengthen connectivity across the region.

The expansion plan also includes the proposed Delhi-Siliguri Bullet Train Project via Patna.

The proposed Patna-Delhi Bullet Train Project forms part of India's Eastern High-Speed Rail Network. It is currently at the planning and survey stage, and construction has not yet begun.
