Chandigarh, Sept. 15 -- Congress leader Rahul Gandhi visited flood-ravaged areas of Punjab's Amritsar and Gurdaspur districts today, spending nearly six and a half hours meeting affected families and assessing the widespread damage caused by recent floods.

Accompanied by Punjab Congress chief Amarinder Singh Raja Warring, Congress in-charge Bhupesh Baghel, and Leader of Opposition Pratap Singh Bajwa, Gandhi engaged directly with locals but refrained from speaking to the media.

In Amritsar's Ghonewal village, Gandhi met families who lost homes and crops to the floods. In a poignant moment, he comforted a crying child who recounted the devastation, lifting him in his arms. He also visited Gurudwara Beed Baba Budha Sahib to pay his respects....
