New Delhi, Aug. 12 -- Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday intensified his criticism of union Home Minister Amit Shah, accusing him of staying away from Parliament during the Monsoon Session and demanding accountability for alleged police brutality against students during recent protests.

Gandhi said Shah's silence over allegations of excessive force against protesting students amounted to a "confession" and argued that the Home Minister should resign regardless of whether he personally issued orders for the alleged police action.
