New Delhi, July 27 -- Congress leader and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Monday voiced support for tribal communities protesting against land acquisition for the Ken-Betwa river linking project in Madhya Pradesh, accusing the BJP government of denying them fair compensation and dignified rehabilitation while cracking down on their peaceful protest.
In a post on social media, Gandhi alleged that tribal families had been compelled to launch a "Jal Satyagraha" and an indefinite hunger strike after being displaced by the Ken-Betwa project without receiving adequate compensation or proper rehabilitation.
