Chennai, Aug. 1 -- Senior Congress leader and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi arrived here on Saturday on a day's visit to meet the families of students who committed suicide over NEET issues and attend the valedictory of the 10-day training camp for DCC Presidents at Mahabalipuram, about 55 km from here.
He was received at the airport by TNCC President and Lok Sabha MP Manickam Tagore, Ministers Viswanathan and Rajesh Kumar, senior Congress leaders.
This is the first visit of Rahul after Manickam Tagore was appointed as the TNCC Chief.
As he came out of the airport, a large number of party cadre, carrying party flags, greeted him with enthusiasm and a siming Congress leader responded by waving his hands to them.
