Chennai, June 27 -- After formally walking out of the Opposition DMK-led Secular Progressive Alliance, the Marularchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (MDMK) of Vaiko, on Saturday, stopped short of entering into an immediate alliance and said it has decided to support the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) government of Chief Minister Joseph Vijay and be with the TVK in the upcomingbye-elections, which he decided not to contest, and Civic polls.
With the TVK emerging as the new magnet towards which the former allies of the DMK and legislators from the AIADMK are gravitating, the MDMK's calling it quits proves to be the final nail in the DMK-led alliance.
