Mexico City, Aug. 2 -- Santiago Homenchenko converted a 102nd-minute penalty asQueretaro edged to a 3-2 home win over Tigres UANL in Mexico's Liga MX.
The hosts raced to a 2-0 lead after early goals from Ali Avila and Mateo Coronel but Rodrigo Aguirre and Juan Brunetta struck either side of halftime to draw Tigres level on Saturday.
The game looked headed for a stalemate before Homenchenko held his nerve from the spot after Diego Reyes was brought down by Francisco Reyes.
Queretaro is now second in the standings with six points from three outings, five ahead of 16th-placed Tigres.
