Kochi, Oct. 23 -- A python was captured from the residence of Kerala Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan at Desam near Nedumbassery in Ernakulam district, marking the third such incident since he assumed office.
The reptile was spotted by police personnel deployed for security at the residence as it moved towards a car parked in the porch. A volunteer from the 'Sarpa' snake rescue network was alerted and reached the spot, captured the python and handed it over to the Forest Department.
The Chief Minister's residence is located close to the Chengalthode stream, with paddy fields surrounding the property. The nearby waterbody and agricultural land are considered possible routes through which snakes could enter the premises.
