New Delhi, Jan. 23 -- The Inland Waterways Development Council has cleared projects worth Rs 900 crore for inland waterways projects, and also gave its nod for asset procurement to the tune of Rs 465 crore for enhancing the waterways capacity in the country.

According to Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal, the government has given a push to expand the inland water transport in different states by developing and improving infrastructure in the sector.
