Puri, July 10 -- A total of 48 individuals, including representatives from various institutions, deposed before the Inquiry Commission today in connection with the stampede incident near the chariots at Gundicha Temple on June 29 in this holy town
The stampede claimed the lives of three devotees, including two women, and left six others injured.
Following public outcry, the state government appointed Development Commissioner-cum-Additional Chief Secretary Anu Garg to conduct an inquiry into the incident and record statements.
The Development Commissioner conducted the proceedings in Puri today. The first public hearing was held earlier on July 9 in Bhubaneswar.
