Bengaluru, May 23 -- union Minister V Somanna on Saturday intensified Karnataka's political heat by calling the Congress administration a "puppet government" and hinting at instability, even as speculation continues over leadership changes within the state BJP unit.

Amid growing chatter over the appointment of a new Karnataka BJP president, Somanna avoided directly endorsing any name but made pointed remarks that are likely to fuel internal political discussions. "The party is bigger than the individual and the country is bigger than the party," he said, while stressing that the BJP high command would take all final decisions.
