Neeraj BaliChandigarh, Sept. 4 -- A former Vancouver police officer of Punjabi origin has been charged with nine criminal offences, including fraud, theft and breach of trust by a public officer, in a case covering alleged transactions over nearly eight years in British Columbia.

Kulwinder "Kal" Dosanjh faces four counts of fraud over C$5,000, four counts of theft over C$5,000 and one count of breach of trust by a public officer.

A second man, Sarbjeet Singh Gill, faces six fraud and theft-related charges.

The British Columbia Prosecution Service has confirmed the charges against the two men.
