Chandigarh, April 22 -- In a proactive move to evaluate and strengthen the state's emergency response mechanisms, the Punjab government is scheduled to conduct a comprehensive Civil Defence Air Raid and Blackout Mock Exercise on April 24.
The drill, which will commence at 8:00 PM, is being organized across all districts of the state in strict compliance with the directives issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs, New Delhi.
The exercise will begin with the activation of an Air Raid Warning Signal, involving high-low pitch sirens that will sound for two minutes. Following this, a simulated blackout will be enforced in specific zones designated by the respective Deputy Commissioners, who also serve as Controllers of Civil Defence.
