Chandigarh, March 28 -- Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Wednesday made a significant announcement regarding the state's river waters, asserting that Punjab will officially stake a claim for Rs 1.44 lakh crore from the Rajasthan government.

Addressing the media, the Chief Minister stated that these dues have accumulated over several decades due to unpaid water usage. He issued a firm ultimatum, stating that Rajasthan must either settle these massive outstanding arrears or cease drawing water from Punjab's resources immediately.
