Neeraj BaliChandigarh, July 29 -- Punjab weightlifter Harjinder Kaur has brought laurels to India by winning a silver medal in the women's 69kg weightlifting event at the 2026 Commonwealth Games being held in Glasgow.

Representing India on the international stage, Harjinder lifted a total of 227 kg across the two rounds, snatch and clean & jerk, to secure second place on the podium. Canada's Charlotte Simone claimed the gold medal after lifting a combined 240 kg, while Australia's Naya Febe Hyman finished third with a total lift of 218 kg.
