Chandigarh, Jan. 20 -- The Punjab Police on Tuesday launched a statewide 72-hour drive named Operation Prahar to intensify action against gangsters and organised crime networks.
Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav announced that nearly 2,000 special police teams, comprising around 12,000 personnel, have been deployed across Punjab to identify, track and act against criminals, their associates and those supporting their activities.
The DGP said the operation focuses not only on active gangsters but also on individuals involved in facilitating crime, including financial backers and those providing logistical support.
