Chandigarh, March 17 -- In a massive statewide operation marking the 56th day of the 'Gangstran Te Vaar' campaign, the Punjab Police on Tuesday conducted 587 raids at strategically mapped locations linked to gangster associates.

Acting on the directives of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann to ensure a gangster-free state, police teams from all districts, in close coordination with the Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF), apprehended 178 individuals. During these operations, authorities also seized three sharp-edged weapons, bringing the total number of arrests under this initiative to 15,072 since its launch on January 20 this year.
