Chandigarh, July 29 -- Punjab Police on Wednesday carried out 641 raids across the state as part of its ongoing 'Gangstran Te Vaar' campaign aimed at cracking down on gangster networks and their associates, officials said.
The special operation, which entered its 190th day, resulted in the arrest of 313 individuals, including one person found in possession of a weapon, taking the total number of arrests made under the campaign to 54,204 since its launch.
The anti-gangster drive was initiated by Punjab Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav on January 20, 2026, to dismantle organised crime networks and make the state free from gangster-related activities.
