Chandigarh, Feb. 21 -- In a significant escalation of its crackdown on organized crime, the Punjab Police today conducted 631 raids across the state as part of the ongoing "Gangstran Te Vaar" initiative.

The operation, which targets mapped locations linked to gangster associates, resulted in the arrest of 217 individuals and the recovery of six weapons.

Launched on January 20, 2026, under the direction of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav, the campaign has now seen a total of 10,412 arrests in its first 32 days.
