Chandigarh, April 7 -- In a massive coordinated effort to purge the state of organized crime, the Punjab Police on Tuesday conducted 501 raids targeting locations linked to associates of various gangsters.
These operations, carried out on the 77th day of the 'Gangstran Te Vaar' campaign, resulted in the apprehension of 202 individuals and the recovery of two illegal weapons. This decisive initiative, launched under the directives of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, has now seen a total of 19,450 arrests since its inception on January 20, 2026.
