Chandigarh, April 24 -- In a major push to bolster the agricultural sector and provide sustainable water solutions to farmers, Punjab Cabinet Minister Barinder Kumar Goyal on Thursday inaugurated a significant lift irrigation scheme at village Oind in the Sri Chamkaur Sahib tehsil.

The project, valued at approximately Rs 44.83 crore, is set to provide vital canal water irrigation to around 4,500 acres of farmland, addressing a long-standing grievance of the local farming community in a region where groundwater levels have been steadily depleting.
