Chandigarh, March 2 -- In a move to bolster religious tourism and pilgrimage infrastructure, the Punjab government on Monday dedicated India's first permanent all-weather air-conditioned tent city to devotees at Sri Anandpur Sahib.

Punjab Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains announced that the facility was developed following the successful implementation of a temporary structure last year and subsequent directions from Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann.

The Minister emphasized that this permanent establishment is designed to address year-round accommodation shortages for pilgrims, including those visiting under the Mukh Mantri Tirath Yatra Scheme, while significantly enhancing the holy city's tourism potential.
