Chandigarh, Aug. 2 -- In a bid to strengthen its anti-drug campaign beyond detoxification, the Punjab government has announced a new community-based rehabilitation programme aimed at supporting recovering drug addicts after they leave de-addiction centres, with a focus on reducing relapse and improving long-term recovery.
The initiative, named the Community Bridge Model (CBM), introduces a structured 90-day rehabilitation plan under which treatment continues at patients' homes after they are discharged from government de-addiction centres.
The programme forms part of the Bhagwant Mann government's ongoing 'Yudh Nashean Virudh' campaign against drug abuse.
