Chandigarh, Nov. 21 -- The Punjab and Haryana High Court on Friday directed the Punjab government to decide within one week on the parole application filed by Khadoor Sahib MP Amritpal Singh. The court highlighted that the Winter Session of Parliament is scheduled from December 1 to 19, emphasizing that the government must respond without delay.
Amritpal Singh, currently lodged in Dibrugarh Central Jail in Assam under the National Security Act (NSA), has sought temporary release to attend parliamentary proceedings. His petition proposes either arrangements should be made for his personal attendance in the House or an alternative mechanism to facilitate his participation.
