Chandigarh, Sept. 6 -- Punjab has seen some respite from the ongoing flood crisis as rainfall in the state and its upper hilly regions has decreased, according to Punjab's Revenue, Rehabilitation, and Disaster Management Minister Hardeep Singh Mundian.

In the past 24 hours, no new area has been reported as affected, and no loss of life has been recorded, though 46 additional villages and 504.16 hectares of agricultural land have been impacted.

Mundian shared that a total of 21,929 individuals have been safely evacuated from flood-affected areas across Punjab.

The evacuations include 5,581 people from Gurdaspur, 3,840 from Ferozepur, 3,953 from Fazilka, 2,734 from Amritsar, 1,615 from Hoshiarpur, 1,428 from Kapurthala, 1,139 from Pathanko...
