Chandigarh, Sept. 1 -- Severe flooding across Punjab has impacted 1,044 villages in 12 districts, affecting 2,56,107 people and resulting in 29 fatalities, said Punjab Revenue, Rehabilitation, and Disaster Management Minister Hardeep Singh Mundian. The state government is working relentlessly to provide relief and support to those affected by the unprecedented rainfall.
Mass Evacuations and Relief OperationsAccording to Minister Mundian, 15,688 people have been evacuated from flood-affected areas, with significant efforts in Gurdaspur (5,549), Ferozepur (3,321), Fazilka (2,049), Amritsar (1,700), Pathankot (1,139), and Hoshiarpur (1,052).
