Chandigarh, Aug. 3 -- Punjab's public transport system remained severely disrupted on Monday after last-ditch efforts to resolve issues between the Bhagwant Mann government and striking contract employees of Punjab Roadways, Punbus, and the Pepsu Road Transport Corporation (PRTC) ended without a breakthrough. Following the failed negotiations, the unions announced plans to march towards the Chief Minister's residence in Chandigarh.

The collapse of talks has pushed the agitation into a more confrontational phase, with thousands of government buses remaining off the roads and commuters across the state facing major inconvenience.
