Chandigarh, March 19 -- A brick kiln owner and his wife from Phillaur in Punjab's Jalandhar district have jointly claimed the Rs 3 crore Punjab State Lottery prize, after days of suspense as the winners of the lottery remained untraced.
Makhan Singh and his wife Kamlesh Kaur said they initially did not believe the winning ticket belonged to them.
Speaking about their experience, the couple said they had come across news reports and television updates stating that the winner of the top prize had not yet been traced. Despite following the coverage, they assumed the ticket was not theirs and did not verify it at the time.
