Chandigarh, April 8 -- The week-long strike by commission agents, locally known as Artiyas, across Punjab has been called off following a successful meeting with the state government on Wednesday.
The breakthrough came during a high-level discussion involving Cabinet Minister for Agriculture, Gurmeet Singh Khuddian, and Cabinet Minister, Barinder Goyal.
Following the consensus reached during the meeting, the Arhtiya associations announced the immediate resumption of work in grain markets across the state, providing a significant boost to the ongoing wheat procurement season that commenced on April 1.
