Chandigarh, March 13 -- In a significant legal victory for thousands of retirees, the Punjab and Haryana High Court has directed the Punjab government to release long-overdue arrears related to revised pensions and Dearness Allowance (DA).
Harpreet Singh Brar, presiding over the bench, clarified that the benefits of this ruling must extend to all eligible pensioners across the state, and not just those who approached the court.
The High Court has mandated the Chief Secretary of Punjab to submit a compliance report, backed by an affidavit from a responsible officer, within three months.
