Sangrur, March 20 -- A 21-year-old youth died after allegedly being injected with an overdose of a narcotic drug in Sangrur district of Punjab.
According to information, the incident occurred on the evening of March 17, around 7 PM.
The deceased has been identified as Sumit.
Sumit's mother Sukho, who works as a sanitation worker, stated that when she returned home from duty, she found her son lying unconscious on the bed, with his legs hanging down. She also noticed a young guy, identified as Anmol Singh, sitting nearby holding a syringe.
When questioned, the accused fled the scene, leaving the syringe behind. The family members immediately rushed Sumit to the Civil Hospital in Sangrur, where doctors declared him dead.
