Chandigarh, Feb. 22 -- In a breakthrough, the Tarn Taran Police have apprehended two wanted criminals, including a primary suspect in a high-profile sarpanch murder case, following an alleged fierce gunfight.
The encounter took place near Nasera Pannu, leaving both accused injured with gunshot wounds. They have since been shifted to a local hospital for medical treatment.
Acting on specific intelligence regarding the movement of the suspects, joint teams from the Tarn Taran CIA and Sarhali Police had established a strategic cordon across various locations since Saturday evening. The breakthrough occurred on Sunday near a riverbank in the Nasera Pannu area, where police intercepted two individuals travelling on a motorcycle.
