Chandigarh, April 17 -- The central government has suspended the official Instagram account of the radical Sikh organization Dal Khalsa, sparking a sharp reaction from its leadership.
Terming the move an "undemocratic strike" on freedom of expression, senior Dal Khalsa leader Kanwarpal Singh Bittu alleged that the administration is systematically attempting to suppress their voice. Bittu claimed that this is part of a recurring pattern, noting that their previous social media page was also shut down in June 2025, forcing the organization to operate through a new account, which has now faced similar action.
