Chandigarh, Sept. 4 -- Senior BJP leader Amarinder Singh today urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to clearly define the term "mental Naxal", saying India must draw a firm line between people who knowingly support Maoist violence and citizens who criticise the government or take part in peaceful protests.
The former Punjab chief minister, writing on Modi's use of the expression in his Independence Day speech, backed tough action against networks that finance, recruit for or otherwise assist armed Maoist groups. His concern was over how far the label could travel beyond those activities.
