Pune, July 18 -- The Pune Police returned 158 mobile phones to their rightful owners after tracing and recovering the devices through the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) portal.
The initiative was undertaken following complaints filed by citizens regarding their lost mobile phones.
Officials from various police stations under Pune Police Commissionerate's Zone 1 reviewed the complaints registered on the CEIR portal and took steps to trace the missing devices.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Krushikesh Rawale said that as part of the drive, 60 mobile phones were recovered by Deccan Police Station, 35 by Samarth Police Station, 27 by Shivajinagar Police Station, 18 by Khadak Police Station, 14 by Vishrambaug Police Station and fou...
