Pune, March 19 -- Concerns have been raised over the effectiveness of anti-encroachment actions carried out by the Pune Municipal Corporation, with allegations that recent drives are merely superficial and fail to bring lasting change.

In a letter addressed to Municipal Commissioner Navalkishor Ram, social activist Sandeep Khardekar highlighted that action was recently taken against encroachments along riverbeds as well as in areas like Karvenagar and Tathawade garden areas. Temporary structures, particularly sheds in front and side margins, were removed during the drive.
