Pune, Sept. 12 -- The consecration ceremony this year of the idol of Shrimant Bhausaheb Rangari Ganpati, considered the first public (sarvajanik) Ganpati in India, will be performed by renowned flautist and Padma Vibhushan awardee Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia on Monday.
A procession carrying the idol will be taken out earlier in the morning, accompanied by traditional dhol-tasha performances.
According to Puneet Balan, festival chief and trustee of the Shrimant Bhausaheb Rangari Ganpati Trust, the procession will begin in the morning from Shrimant Bhausaheb Rangari Bhavan after the morning aarti.
The procession will proceed via Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Road to Budhwar Chowk, Tambdi Jogeshwari Temple, Appa Balwant Chowk and Bajirao Road...
