Pune, April 13 -- A woman living separately from her husband due to family disputes was allegedly exploited by a self-proclaimed godman in Pune.
According to police, the accused, identified as Audumbar Manohar Gadde, befriended the woman and claimed to possess divine powers.
Taking advantage of her vulnerable situation, he allegedly lured her to a lodge in the Swargate area, where he sexually assaulted her.
Police said the accused later took the woman to Mangaon, where he allegedly raped her again. In addition to the sexual assault, the woman has also accused the godman of cheating her out of Rs 50 lakh.
A case has been registered at Swargate Police Station under relevant sections.
