Hyderabad, June 28 -- A three-day Pulse Polio Immunisation Programme began across Telangana on Sunday, with Health Minister Damodar Rajanarasimha launching the statewide campaign at Borabanda by administering oral polio vaccine to children below the age of five.
The National Immunisation Day (NID) programme, being held from June 28 to 30, aims to administer two drops of oral polio vaccine to over 40.97 lakh children across all 33 districts. While June 28 has been designated as booth day, house-to-house visits to vaccinate missed and left-out children will be conducted on June 29 and 30.
