Mumbai, May 21 -- The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested a special assistant public prosecutor red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 25,000 within the court premises.
According to the Thane ACB, the accused AGP Bhupesh Ajit Purandare was handling a case in a court in adjoining Vasai.
The complainant, an advocate practising in the same court had filed an application on behalf of his client seeking recovery of property seized in connection with a case registered at the Manikpur police station.
Purandare allegedly demanded a bribe of Rs 25,000 to submit a favourable opinion or report regarding the return of the seized property.
Unwilling to pay the bribe amount, the complainant approached the ACB and lodged a complaint.
