Dharwad (Karnataka), May 12 -- Claiming that there is a "strong public expectation" for decisive action on infiltration, border security, and alleged past violence in West Bengal, Milind Parande, General Secretary of Vishva Hindu Parishad, made a series of sharp remarks that have now become the focal point of a fresh political controversy.
Parande said there is an expectation that "illegal entrants from Bangladesh and Myanmar" should be identified and removed, while Hindu refugees from Bangladesh should be granted citizenship. He linked these demands to what he described as internal security concerns, especially in border states.
