Chandigarh, Aug. 31 -- Student elections across Panjab University and its affiliated Chandigarh colleges saw a clash between students and police at the university's Law Department on Monday, even as results began coming in from several colleges after polling ended.
Voting was held from 9.30 am to noon at Panjab University and eight colleges. Counting began soon afterwards, with college results being declared through the afternoon while the contest for the Panjab University Campus Students' Council remained under watch.
At the Law Department, students protested after a gate was closed during polling. Some kicked the gate open and tried to enter, leading to pushing and shoving with police personnel.
