Bagalkot, Feb. 20 -- Prohibitory orders were imposed in Bagalkot city, Karnataka, on Friday following tensions triggered by a stone-pelting incident in the city's old town during the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti procession.

The tension was reported near Panka Masjid, when stones were hurled as the procession passed in front of the mosque, causing minor injuries to police personnel and raising public concern.

The prohibitory orders have been extended until February 24, with further arrests expected based on CCTV footage, particularly in connection with a related vegetable shop fire case.
