Shivamogga, Sept. 10 -- Communal tension gripped Karnataka's Shivamogga district after a video showing alleged pro-Pakistan slogans during Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi celebrations in Bhadravati went viral on social media, prompting the police to launch a probe and political leaders to condemn the incident.

According to officials, the incident occurred on Monday night in the Old Town area of Bhadravati where a Muslim organisation had organised the Milad procession. The video clip, which spread widely online, appeared to show a group of youths raising "Pakistan Zindabad" slogans. The development sparked concern among residents, as Shivamogga has in the past witnessed communal disturbances.
