Srinagar, July 4 -- The Jammu and Kashmir administration on Friday distributed pamphlets carrying Prime Minister Narendra Modi's message to pilgrims at the Nunwan and Baltal base camps, urging devotees to make the Shri Amarnath Yatra a model of responsible citizenship by taking five pledges focused on cleanliness, safety, support for local livelihoods, environmental conservation and nation-building.
The annual Amarnath Yatra commenced on Friday morning from the twin routes of Nuwan and Baltal amid unprecedented security.
