Mumbai, July 11 -- Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar) MLA Rohit Pawar today hailed the Maharashtra government's decision to remove two "restrictive conditions" from the farm loan waiver scheme as a victory of the farmers' struggle, even as he demanded immediate implementation of the relief measures.
MLA Pawar welcomed the government's move to scrap the contentious 2019 cut-off clause and the 2016-17 eligibility criteria, which he claimed would have otherwise excluded nearly 70 per cent-or approximately 35 lakh-farmers from the benefits of the scheme.
